Man charged with luring a 14-year-old girl and has two teenage children of his own
Jul 31, 2018 | Assault, Criminal Law, Miscellaneous
A driving instructor from Westmead has been charged for having sexually explicit conversations online with a person believed to be a 14-year-old girl. This would be a charge of using a carriage service to procure a person under 16 years for sex.
Police allege the man, aged 63, believed to be chatting to a young girl who actually was a detective from Strike Force Trawler.
Strike Force Trawler is an ongoing investigation by the CIEU into the sexual abuse and exploitation of children through the internet.
The accused was engaged in sexually explicit conversations before making plans to meet the child in person.
After the arrest on Thursday, police raided his Castle Hill home and seized computers and electronic devices.
Mr Whale, who is married and has two teenage children, had been an instructor at Sydney’s On Road driving school since 2015 and has had a great record of service with excellent reviews from customers on the On Road Facebook page.
Mr Whale had passed a working with children check and a background check to attain his driving instructor’s qualifications.
He was taken to Parramatta police station and charged with using a carriage service to procure a person under 16 years for sex. He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court on Friday.
